Communists and Committees - The two poison in way of India's growth

In India, committees are formed for every issue, as no-one is willing to take a decision. These committees never come up with any reasonable resultion of important matters, and things languish endlessly for days altogether.

Another committee is getting formed to hang the landmark nuclear cooperation deal between India and the United States.

Indian government buckling under the left opposition decided to implement the pact only after a politically appointed committee examines it. Mr Singh agreed to the communists' demand that a committee be created to examine the pact. The operationalization of the deal will take into account the committee's findings. Mr. Mukherjee said the committee is to have five Congress members and five communists.

This is unfortunate as even one communist is able to destory the country - five communists are capable of going to any extent to please their fatherland - China. I can visualize the Chinese government going all ga-ga over our national stupidity of voting CPM into power.

This has in effect hanged the progress on the next steps - negotiating agreements with the
International Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Suppliers Group, a group of nations that export nuclear material — before the committee had finished its review.

There is a deadline for these two activities. As per the discussion with US authorities, agreements with the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Suppliers Group has to be tied up by the end of the year, along with the needed approval from U.S. lawmakers.
The creation of the committee raised questions about whether they could still meet that deadline.

A committee could delay any movement on the pact until it is no longer viable.

Finally communists have succeeded in what they like to do - hamper the country's progress to please China. And this case, they have pleased Pakistan as well, by hurting India's progress.
