Tale of some jealous journalists!

The N-deal, though hugely advantageous for India, has recieved some critical press from international publications such as The Economist, for American Congress and Bush's effort to treat India as a special case. Sample this from The Economist:

For India's government the controversial deal it struck last month with America to allow civil nuclear co-operation between the two countries is already radiating success. Shinzo Abe, Japan's prime minister, was in Delhi this week to cement a “strategic partnership”. Meanwhile, Australia's cabinet has agreed in principle to sell uranium to India, even though India hasn't signed the NPT.

The Bush administration argues it is better to bring India in from the cold and have it take on similar responsibilities to the treaty's five recognised nuclear powers: America, Britain, France, Russia and China. That would be a net gain for non-proliferation.

This deal is a huge win for India. Having a powerful strategic partner such as USA helps to get similar fruitful deals from countries like Australia, Japan and others, and with the Uncle Sam's hand on your back, you are included in the global mainstream of trade and commerce, inspite of progressing on domestic nuclear front.

Way to go, India. And do not bother about the jealous jounalists!

India frees up its nuclear resources if the deal goes through...

One significant advantage of the Nuclear deal is highlighted by "The Independent" published from UK. Read On..

...A former head of Indian intelligence has said publicly the deal will allow India to produce 50 more nuclear warheads a year than it can now, by freeing up existing uranium reserves for military use...

Well, this is very much a need of the hour...Sample this..

Satellite photographs revealed Pakistan is building what analysts believe is a large reactor capable of producing enough plutonium for 50 warheads a year

This means that if the Nuclear deal doesn't go through, and Pakis are well ahead in their N-plan....of course with the technology assistance from China and Petro-dollars from Gulf...Pakis will soon be in a position to threaten us with their Islamic BOMBS...

Advantages of Nuclear Deal for India...from The Economist

Wow...this is straight from "The Economist"...

The premium paper of economic analysis and thinking has warned USA to go ahead with Nuclear Deal....Why? Because this deal helps India more than it helps USA....

See for yourself...

Rise of China is rarely mentioned, but it is perhaps the fundamental impulse behind this deal, as a factor in America's nuclear exception for India....

....But from what has been said about it, it makes the deal far worse, by allowing India to reprocess American-supplied nuclear fuel, and by permitting it to build fuel stockpiles and hence withstand any future cut-off of supplies should it test another bomb....

The Economist believes that USA has given too many concessions to India, in its bid to control the military and economic growth of China...So here's the economic and strategy link to this deal...US wants to control China...Full Stop.

China knows this..so they oppose the deal...And many pro-China Indian political parties also oppose the deal...

But hey its benefitial for India...So lets hope it goes through and lets support it with all our might and nationalist spirit...

Then why this opposition....Who is the conspirator here.

Scientist Speak: Prima facie it looks like a victory for India

Some comments from the Indian Nuclear Scientist community on the Indo-US Nuclear deal:

Indian Nuclear Society president Placid Rodrigues told TOI "On the face of it, it seems okay, but still we have to wait and watch. Prima facie it looked like a victory for India".

"I feel that India has partly won this deal," he said. "India's fast breeder programme will take off if we have a large number of reprocessing plants, and I am happy that the negotiations have led to some agreement."

Atomic Energy Commission former chairman M R Srinivasan said, "I think it is a good package. I think India's vital concerns have been finally addressed." Srinivasan said once the deal becomes operational it would go a long way in increasing the share of India's nuclear energy. "

It took 300 working hours for Indian and American negotiators to put together a 30-page document that constitutes the 123 Agreement which will bring into effect the Indo-US civilian nuclear deal.

All in all, looks like a significant victory for India. With our bulging population, increasing oil costs, uncertainity in Gulf, Nuclear energy is the way to self-reliance for Indian energy needs.

Then why are some people opposing this deal. What is their self-interest. Are these people sold-out and Anti-Indian?

Noone disputes the opinion of well-educated and nationalist scientist from ISRO....Then why are some political parties dead against the agreement...Are they playing in hands of some enemies?
