BJP and RJD Support Nuclear Deal!!

Slowly sense is prevailing in Indian Political Arena. Or is it the fear of impending elections, that no-one really wants to face.

Indian Politicians are known to turn on their head, and change their comments and strategy every now and then to suit themselves, but this is too quick even for their comfort.

BJP and RJD - a UPA ally, have given signals of endorsing N-deal and distancing themselves from left parties on this matter.

The U-turn on N-Deal:

1. Ties with US in our national interest, deal OK if home law changed: Advani

In a dramatic turnaround, the BJP today distanced itself from the Left over the Indo-US nuclear deal with Leader of Opposition L K Advani saying that his party has no objection to the 123 Agreement if the government amends the Indian Atomic Energy Act to ensure strategic independence and non-hindrance in reactor fuel supplies.

These latest remarks from the Leader of Opposition appear to undermine the Left’s consistent claim that a “majority” in Parliament are opposed to the nuclear deal.

2. RJD endorses Indo-US nuclear deal

The RJD, a key ally of the UPA government at the Centre, today endorsed the Indo-US civil nuclear deal, saying the treaty would enable the country to fulfil its energy needs.
Adopting a resolution at its national conference held in Sarnath near here, the RJD, headed by Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, endorsed the deal on the ground that it would enable the country to generate nuclear energy to meet the infrastructural requirements.

The party congratulated the UPA government and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for working out the deal with the US.

Wow. That's the starting signals of victory for Manmohan's tough stand on N-deal. I guess more parties would join the 'aye' band-wagon soon. It takes just a little tough-stand to bring the sheeps to herd, I presume!!

Left is left stranded, once again. Anti-nationalist folks deserve no support.
