Left continues on their anti-nation propoganda...
Ahead of the first meeting of the United Progressive Alliance-Left committee to sort out differences on the nuclear deal with the US, Left parties on Monday toughened their stance saying nobody can convince them that the Hyde Act will have "no role or effect" on the bilateral agreement.
The 15-member Left-United Progressive Alliance panel on the Indo-US nuclear deal will have its first meeting on Tuesday as part of the exercise to address concerns raised by the four Left parties regarding the implications of the India-specific Hyde Act of the US on the country's independent foreign policy, sovereignty and its future weapons programmes.
But CPM seems to have already decided on its course of action for these discussions.
"All these issues we will discuss. But nobody will be able to convince us that the Hyde Act has no role, no effect on this bilateral agreeement. I know they will put very eminent lawyers from their side. But this is not a matter to be argued in a court of law," Communist Party of India-Marxist general secretary Prakash Karat said in Delhi.

Left crosses all limits of betryal...
Indian Left parties have crossed all limits in their betryal towards India and their preference for their Father country - China.
Sample this:
Flagging off the Jatha organised by the Left parties against the joint naval exercise involving the United States, veteran Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Jyoti Basu on Tuesday stepped up the Left attack on the United Progressive Alliance government for its tilt towards the US.
"The UPA government is trying to turn the country into the American fold which is against the Common Minimum Programme, on the basis of which the Left is extending support to the Centre," Basu said addressing a gathering before kick starting the 'jatha'(procession).
"This is against the country's independent foreign policy," the 94-year-old politburo member of the CPM said and hoped that the people of the country would realise the danger and extend support to the 'jatha'.
CPI general secretary A B Bardhan who is heading the 'jatha' from Kolkata to Vishakapattanam said that he had no idea about the outcome of the committee set up by the UPA government to address the concerns of the Left parties on the Indo-US nuclear deal.
"The government will face the consequence if it goes ahead with operationalising the deal," he said.
This is the same Jyoti Basu that said in 1962, that China is not attacking India. These left leaders should be deported to China and CPM to be banned.
If they cant see what is of strategic importance to India, they have no right to mis-led people and hold protests against a military affair.
I bet Indian Naval officers would be dying to get their hands to strangulate the neck of left leaders. Only if the law permits that. LOL.

Unshackling of technological embargoes through N-deal
More support for the Nuclear Deal - from the people who understand the technicalities behind the deal....
The Indo-US nuclear deal could lead to a possible "unshackling" of technological embargoes, further aiding the domestic nuclear programme of the country, the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission Mr Anil Kakodkar has said.
"The possible unshackling of the technology embargo regime that has operated around us for decades without success is a welcome opportunity that we should be able to exploit without any adverse impact on our autonomous domestic research and development and implementation of our three stage nuclear programme," Anil Kakodkar said at a recent function.
Kakodkar said the nation would continue to pursue its three stage development programme for nuclear power.
The government, he said, was aware of the pressing energy needs, and was prepared to bring in additionalities through international civil nuclear co-operation.
This is a important set of comments because the senior scientist, was among those consulted during the negotiations for the 123 Agreement for the civil nuclear deal.
He knows what he talks about.

Sonia hails Manmohan for N-deal
In this country, everything in politics is controlled by the Gandhi family. So when Sonia Madam hails PM for the N-deal, this means that Congress is really serious on this deal. Sample this..
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has congratulated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his team of "able negotiators" for hammering a treaty that "satisfies all the conditions" laid out before Parliament.
"... India and the US have signed a historic 123 Agreement that lifts the decades-old embargo against nuclear trade with India. This will allow India to expand its energy sector to meet the growing demands of our economic growth and put an end to the power shortages that we are all familiar with," she said.
In a "Letter to Congress Workers", Gandhi said, "We congratulate Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his team of able negotiators who have hammered a treaty that satisfies all the conditions laid out before Parliament and brought home an agreement that is in the long term in the interest of India."
